New York Mets pitcher Dillon Gee, second baseman Daniel Murphy and first baseman Lucas Duda played a friendly game of whiffleball against a team of students at the Henry Viscardi School at The Viscardi Center.
Dr. Calvin Butts Gives 2014 Commencement Speech
Dr. Calvin O. Butts III, President of SUNY College at Old Westbury, was the commencement speaker on June 26 at Henry Viscardi School at The Viscardi Center, which serves children with severe physical disabilities.
Viscardi Multimedia Learning Center Dedicated
The Viscardi Center dedicated its fully accessible Viscardi Multimedia Learning Center, made possible by the generosity of John and Janet Kornreich. The facility offers a wide range of new capabilities that will benefit the children and adults with disabilities served by the Center.

The National Business & Disability Council (NBDC) at The Viscardi Center reaffirmed its support for the Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities, or otherwise known as the Disability Treaty.

Viscardi Center Schedules 2nd Annual Golf Outing
The Viscardi Center will hold its 2nd Annual Golf Outing on September 9, 2014 at the prestigious Meadow Brook Club in Jericho. The day includes a round of golf, an elaborate cocktail reception and a silent auction. Proceeds benefit the Center’s employment programs.
Kinky Boots Cast Performs at Luncheon Fundraiser
The “Angels of Kinky Boots” from Broadway’s Kinky Boots, winner of six Tony Awards®, including Best Musical and recent GRAMMY® Award winner for Best Musical Theater Album, entertained guests at the 32nd the Reach for a Star Luncheon benefitting Henry Viscardi School at The Viscardi Center.
NBDC to Host Series of Think Tanks on June 24
The National Business & Disability Council at The Viscardi Center will host a Think Tank session to assist its member companies in understanding issues concerning disability in the workforce and legislation regarding accommodations and new hiring regulations.
OFCCP Section 503 Rule in Effect Today
The Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 rule change announced last year by the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs went into effect today. The change requires federal contractors/subcontractors to show they are working towards building and maintaining an inclusive workforce.
